Therapists are uniquely positioned to lead in the age of AI

Now is the time to understand the rapidly expanding landscape of AI: how it's shaping mental health and how clients are using it for emotional support.

AI Mental Health Collective

Dr. Rachel Wood is the founder of the AI Mental Health Collective. The AIMHC serves to educate and equip mental health professionals with the knowledge and skills necessary for navigating AI's presence both on the clinician side and client side.

Whether you invited it or not, AI is already in your practice. From clinician assistance (note transcription and summary, etc) to clients using AI chatbots as a facet of their emotional support system, AI is infiltrating (almost) everything.

The AIMHC is a much needed proactive response to the rising prevalence of AI therapy and artificial companions. Dr. Wood's approach to this field is AI-centrist, meaning it is neither evangelist nor alarmist.

Leading Voices in AI & Mental Health

Whether you're "for" or "against" AI is not the issue, the issue is that millions of people are using AI for emotional support (including your clients). The collective creates a container for us to think deeply about the impacts of AI in practice and in society.

This is an opportunity to contribute to the collective voice that addresses risks, benefits, ethics, and clinician perspective of AI's impact on mental health.

AI Therapist Certification Program

Our future intent is to develop an industry-first credentialing program for therapists interested in becoming certified to work with clients in alignment with the AI Attachment Spectrum.

Additional initiatives will be introduced as the community evolves.
