A True Theology of Machines

"A true theology of machines begins not with what they are, but with who we become in relationship to them".

We cannot divorce mental health from the AI conversation. Not when 2025 revealed this as our current reality:

▪️ the 33 million who use Copilot see it as more of a companion than a task assistant
 
 ▪️ of the 800 million that use ChatGPT weekly, 1 million of them discuss suicide
 
 ▪️ 52% of youth regularly interact with companions

▪️ 48.7% of U.S. adults have used LLMs for psychological support, but only 18.5% of it happens on tools built for mental health

GenAI might be the largest provider of mental health in the US. Why? Because we are relational beings to the core. 

So I'm continuing to push the conversation forward:
- synthetic relationships
- decision sovereignty
- design for rehearsal rather than replacement
