The Rise of the Omnibot

Nov 08, 2025

The rise of the omnibot.

It is what no individual person could ever be: 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺𝘡𝘩π˜ͺ𝘯𝘨.

The role fluidity of chatbots means that one minute they are assisting your work project, the next they are validating your personal turmoil, and later they are flirting with you. They are...everything.

I don't know about you, but I've never had anyone in my life be "everything" (nor is it healthy to rely solely on one person). Each person around us falls into one, or maybe several, categories of relational interaction. This is a positive thing because it nudges us to engage in community and it prevents unrealistic expectations.

But with the rise of the omnibot, the delineation between what is possible versus what is unrealistic may blur. Intense or prolonged chatbot usage may deteriorate the skills needed to relationally engage with humans who let you down, who disappoint you, who are not everything for you.

This is why it's vital for AI to be designed as a rehearsal for real relationships, not an escape from them.
